Day of the Procedure: What to Expect During the Transplant
Preparation and Local Anaesthesia
Upon arrival at Estevitalya, the medical team at the facility will prepare the scalp and inject local anesthesia to make the process painless.
Extraction Phase
Extraction Phase: Hair follicles are taken from the donor site-usually the back of the head-with state-of-the-art techniques that minimize scarring and afford maximum accuracy.
Implantation Phase
The extracted follicles are then implanted to the recipient area in a very natural hairline and with the right density. This stage requires great attention to detail and may consume several hours based on the amount of grafts.
Post-Procedure Instructions
Patients are given explicit aftercare advice on the cleaning and protection of the scalp immediately post-transplant for the initial periods of healing.
Post-procedure: Healing and Hair Growth
1st Week
Expected to experience mild swelling and erythema. Avoid manipulating the scalp, heavy exercises, and sun exposure.
1–3 Months
During this period, the transplanted hair falls out; this is a quite normal process. Under the surface of the skin, follicles start producing new, healthy hair.
4–12 Months
New hair starts to grow back, visible but thin, and it slowly starts thickening and blending perfectly with the other hair.
1 Year and Beyond
Results after 12 months will give a full head of hair that looks totally natural.
